Digital Scrapbooking Pages

My newest obsession is digital scrapbooking. Unfortunately I'm spending more time downloading elements, papers, alphas, and such to create the pages with rather than actually creating the pages. Here's a few pages from Darian's school field trip album and a page I put together using pictures from one of our Mammoth Cave visits this summer. Enjoy!

Hope for Nashville!
I had forgotten I had this picture until I was looking for another picture this morning. When I stumbled across this picture the first thought I had, in light of the recent flooding in Nashville, is the promise God made to Noah to never flood the earth again to destroy life on the earth and the rainbow as a symbol of that promise.
(Copied from the Bible Gateway site as I didn't want to type it all out.)
Genesis 9:8-17 (King James Version)
8And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,
9And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;
10And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.
11And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
12And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
13I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
14And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
15And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
16And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
17And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

Wandered Indiana for my Birthday

The good Lord allowed me to celebrate another year of life on Saturday so Michel and I decided to celebrate by going to see what God had created in southeastern Indiana. We started from home with no destination in mind, just a plan to take whatever road struck our fancy and to see where that road leads. We had the atlas just in case we did get lost, but we never really consulted it until we kept going in circles in Sellersberg.
Our adventure took us from home to Bedford, Scottsburg, Sellersberg, Madison (Ate dinner at the Key West Shrimp House and took some pictures along the river.), Vevay (Spent a couple of hours at Belterra. I came out with an extra $5.60!), and finally Lawrenceburg where we spent the night (Went to the Hollywood Casino there and left $1.78 behind.). On Sunday we couldn't resist going to IKEA near Cincinnati since we were only about 35 minutes away. From Cincinnati we headed straight home and talked about our little adventure quite a bit. We are ready for the next one!
Here's the list of the roads we traveled:
-Home -> South on US 231 to SR 58 to SR 37S to Bedford
-Bedford -> East on John Williams Blvd. till it ended then we went a few blocks north to SR 58 East.
-SR 58 E -> SR 446 -> US 50 E (toward Seymour)
-US 50 E -> SR 250 -> SR 39 S -> SR 56 E (to Scottsburg)
-SR 56 E -> I 65 S to Sellersberg Exit 9
-Exit 9 = SR 31 N->turning around and going back to SR 403, to turning around to go SR 31 S, to taking a few main city streets to get to Sellersberg-Utica Road to back on SR 403 toward Charleston.
-Charleston ->SR 3 over to SR 62 E = Ohio River Scenic Byway
-Ohio River Scenic Byway(ORSB) /SR 62 -> ORSB SR 256 -> (ORSB) SR 56E (to Madison)
-Madison -> ORSB SR 56 E -> Vevay
-Vevay-> ORSB 56 E -> ORSB SR 156 -> ORSB SR 56-> ORSB US 50 E -> Lawrenceburg
Got all that? There will be a quiz later! LOL!
We only took pictures in along the river in Madison and a quick stop by a giant rubber ducky in front of a daycare in Vevay, but I've posted some of them. I wish we would've stopped to take more pictures, but we left too late on Saturday afternoon, so daylight was fading, plus the landscape hasn't awaken from its winter nap, so it wasn't as pretty as what it will be in a few more weeks.

Spring Is In the Air!
The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, the weather is warm, so it must mean Spring is just around the corner! Since I just received an belated Christmas gift/early birthday gift today, I thought I ought to try it out. The best subject I seemed to find to try out my new camera with were the birds that have been singing in our trees and devouring the seed in our feeders. I'm just glad that a of them were very cooperative and stayed put in the trees long enough for me to snap a few pictures!

Snow Day!

The boys went sledding yesterday and I took Eli out to play in the snow with them too. I'm not sure who was enjoying playing in the snow the most - the boys or Eli. Eli would just run through it, kicking up snow behind him and chasing the boys down the hill as they were sledding. It was fun to watch them play and enjoy their day off from school.
